Indicted In Child Abuse Death

A Harker Heights woman was indicted for murder this week by the Bell County Grand Jury. The charge stems from a case where she is alledged to have starved her two month old infant.

Nilda Iliana Rodriguez, 30, is accused of "starving … and withholding from Deon Dejuan Griffin sufficient nutrition and fluids to maintain life," the indictment stated.

"The child was malnourished, and she did not seek medical attention," First Assistant District Attorney Murff Bledsoe said. Source: Killeen Daily Herald

This is just one of a number of senseless child abuse deaths to happen in Bell County recently.
